Meet Michael Marras

Husband. Father. Coach.

Helping fathers become fit to lead.

Before The Fit Fatherhood

"Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit..."

Or, as some might argue, Windsor, Ontario.

My journey into fitness didn't begin with a career plan.

It began with a search for belonging.

At fifteen years old, I walked into my high school's weight room for the first time.

I was quiet. Introverted. Like many teenagers, I was trying to figure out who I was.

The weight room became more than a place to exercise.

It became a place where I learned discipline.

Where I learned confidence.

Where I learned that meaningful change is built one small decision at a time.

Over the next two decades I immersed myself in health and performance, learning through my own successes and failures, mentorships with leaders in the fitness industry, seminars, certifications and, most importantly, coaching real people.

Before becoming a full-time coach, I spent more than ten years serving as a member of Canada's national police force—the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

That experience reinforced lessons that continue to shape how I coach today:

Discipline.

Service.

Responsibility.

Showing up when people need you.

Becoming A Father Changed Everything

In 2017, everything changed.

My wife and I welcomed our first son, Matteo, into the world.

A few years later came Ayden.

Then our daughter, Mya.

Each child changed me in ways I never expected.

Before becoming a father, training was largely about me.

It challenged me.

It disciplined me.

It tested my physical limits.

But fatherhood gave strength an entirely different purpose.

I no longer trained simply to become stronger.

I trained to become more capable.

Capable of carrying the responsibilities entrusted to me.

Capable of leading with patience.

Capable of serving my family well.

Because children are always watching.

They learn far more from what we consistently do than what we occasionally say.

That realization became the foundation of everything The Fit Fatherhood would eventually become.

Why I Started The Fit Fatherhood

As I coached more fathers, I noticed something.

The fitness industry wasn't designed for them.

Many programs were created by people whose lives revolved around fitness.

Unlimited time.

Unlimited flexibility.

Few competing responsibilities.

That isn't the reality for most fathers.

A father is balancing work.

Marriage.

Children.

Sleep deprivation.

School pickups.

Family dinners.

Unexpected setbacks.

He doesn't need another unrealistic program.

He needs a plan built around the life he's already living.

That's why I created The Fit Fatherhood.

Not to help fathers chase perfect physiques.

But to help them become healthier, stronger and more capable of leading the people who depend on them.

My Coaching Philosophy

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all coaching.

Every father arrives with different goals.

Different schedules.

Different injuries.

Different challenges.

Different families.

So every plan should be different.

My coaching isn't about handing someone a PDF and hoping for the best.

It's an ongoing partnership.

Together we build a sustainable system around your training, nutrition, recovery and lifestyle that fits your life—not someone else's.

Because the best program isn't the most complicated.

It's the one you can consistently follow for years.

Beyond Coaching

When I'm not coaching, you'll usually find me exactly where I want to be—with my family.

Whether we're setting off on another "adventure," exploring the outdoors, coaching youth sports, reading bedtime stories, playing board games, training together in the basement, or simply gathering around the dinner table, these are the moments that remind me why this work matters.

I'm not training for a photoshoot.

I'm not training for a trophy.

I'm not training to impress anyone.

I'm training to be healthy enough to keep saying "yes" to the moments that matter most.

Yes to another bedtime story.

Yes to another adventure.

Yes to coaching one more season.

Yes to carrying my kids when they’re too tired to walk.

Yes to throwing a football in the backyard.

Yes to growing old alongside the people I love.

The goal has never been to build the strongest body.

It's to build the strongest family possible.

Everything else flows from there.

What I Believe

I believe strength exists to serve.

I believe fathers shape the future of their families.

I believe children learn more from what they observe than what they're are told.

I believe discipline creates freedom.

I believe health is one of the greatest gifts a father can give his family.

I believe consistency always beats perfection.

I believe fitness is not the destination.

It is preparation.

I believe strong fathers raise strong families.

Let's Build Something That Lasts

If you're ready to become healthier, stronger and more capable—not simply for yourself, but for the people who depend on you most—I would be honoured to help you write the next chapter of your story.
